January 2022 Employee of the Month, Michael Baker

Michael Baker, User Services Consultant II in the IT Assistance Center, was selected as the Texas State Employee of the Month for January 2022.

Michael is responsible for providing administration and support for Digital Measures and Faculty Qualifications software. As part of this, he oversees the addition and removal of users, creates service reports, provides support for faculty tenure and promotion, and develops annual reviews for faculty qualifications and presidential awards.

In addition to providing support for these programs, Michael also hosts multiple training workshops not just in these programs, but for Canvas, Teams, Zoom, and other IT courses. He works with group training programs and one-on-one consultations to ensure that each college and department has their unique processes and needs accommodated.

Michael has undertaken additional responsibilities such as updating university policies and coordinating with the steering committee. He is extremely dedicated to making sure all the work is completed when needed by the respective colleges and departments, even if it means working well into the night or coming in on the weekends to launch new processes and updates.
