EOM Winner April

Nina Camacho, Administrative Assistant III in the McCoy College of Business, was selected as the Texas State Employee of the Month for April 2022.

On any given day, Nina may be found in the Office of the Dean fielding phone calls from prospective applicants, assisting students with registration, scheduling meetings for the associate deans, analyzing strategic planning survey results, or troubleshooting classroom technology for faculty. Nina helps organize events such as the Graduate Hooding Ceremony or Graduate Boot Camp Orientation, answers student inquiries, organizes college-wide meetings, coordinates class scheduling, facilitates course evaluations, and produces enrollment reports.

However, Nina’s impact extends far beyond her typical duties. Last fall she organized the inaugural McCoy College of Business First Generation Student Networking and Mentoring Reception which welcomed first-gen students and promoted their retention and success. She regularly assists with the Texas State University Women’s Leadership Symposium, the McCoy College of Business International Education Week, and the McCoy Conversations series. She also lends her organizational talents to the new McCoy College Marketing and Communications Team.

In a time of significant leadership and personnel changes, Nina has stepped up to the plate. She served as the interim Graduate Programs Advisor and has capably shepherded and supported graduate students through their semesters and study abroad and scholarship opportunities. Additionally, Nina has served on several committees over the past year, including the crucial search committee for the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs.

Nina is always the first to pitch in when needed and assumes her responsibilities with reliability, thoughtfulness, and competency. Her colleagues describe Nina as the consummate professional and graduate students appreciate her calm and steady guidance and service. It is clear that Nina not only cares about her work colleagues, but also Texas State students.
